Physical fitness is a major component of becoming the best version of oneself. We help young people break barriers and grow through a consistent sport and fitness regime.
Tennis is the "hook" that keeps students engaged in our program. Using a games-based approach, everyone can learn the basics of this life-long sport!
A 30-minute classroom lesson begins program including reading and lessons about character and developing a growth mindset.
We'll reach over 360 students through our After-School Tennis and Education Program 90% of whom have never picked up a racquet.
The SVB Tennis Foundation Ambassador Program is a select group of high school students who wish to grow their tennis game while giving back to the younger students in their community. Ambassadors must complete an application and pass an interview in order to be accepted to the one-year commitment. Ambassadors are offered weekly group and private lessons, a membership at the SVB Tennis and Wellness Center, and equipment needed to perform their best. Each Ambassador is required to commit to a specific number of hours volunteering in our Tennis and Education After-School Program. Ambassadors become junior coaches, mentors and tutors to young students.
The SVB Tennis Foundation began as solely a scholarship program for graduating seniors from Zephyrhills High School, Sarah's alma mater. We continue to offer three scholarships annually to student-athletes graduating from ZHS who plan on attending secondary education. The application opens late winter and closes May 1. Congratulations to our 2023 scholarship winners: Rachel Diaz and Savannah Scheuerman!
